Privacy

The short, readable version of what I collect about you and why. No legalese, no tricks. If anything doesn't match reality, drop me a line at team@euphronic.com and I'll fix it.

What I collect and why

1. Forum account (contract performance — GDPR Art. 6(1)(b))

When you sign in to the forum I store: email address, OAuth identifier (if you use Google sign-in), your posts, comments and votes. Without this data I can't run the account.

2. Newsletter (consent — Art. 6(1)(a))

When you subscribe: email address, registration timestamp and IP at registration (spam prevention). You can withdraw consent any time via the unsubscribe link in every email.

3. Analytics and error reporting (consent — Art. 6(1)(a))

Active only if you click Accept all in the cookie banner or tick a specific category under Customize. See cookie settings for details. Before your consent, no tracking runs.

4. Security (legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(f))

IP address logs to protect against spam, brute-force attempts and abuse. Retained max 30 days (longer only when resolving a specific incident).

Retention

  • Account and forum content — until account deletion (delete via /forum/account)
  • Newsletter — until unsubscribe
  • Sentry errors — 90 days
  • Vercel Analytics — 30 days
  • Security logs — 30 days (max 90 days for incident resolution)

Your rights

  • Access (Art. 15) — a copy of your data
  • Rectification (Art. 16) — fix inaccuracies
  • Erasure (Art. 17, "right to be forgotten")
  • Portability (Art. 20) — machine-readable format
  • Restriction (Art. 18)
  • Object (Art. 21) to legitimate-interest processing
  • Withdraw consent any time (analytics, newsletter)

To exercise your rights, write to team@euphronic.com. I respond within 30 days (up to 90 in complex cases, with advance notice).

Changes to this policy

I'll notify you of material changes by email (if you have an account or newsletter subscription) or by a notice on the site at least 30 days in advance.
